The Game of Fan Tan
Fan Tan, also known as fancy, is an old form of gambling that was very popular in the early days of China. It is now called "Pai Gow" in the west, which literally translates to "Luck of the Golden Flower." It is simply a game of pure luck with numerous similarities with blackjack. There are no cards and the outcome of each card game is determined by luck. You don't require any special abilities to play. Fan Tan is a basic game. Three piles of ten cards, dealt from left to right, are then turned face-up in the form of a card.
The first phase of the game involves the dealer making seven cards from the deck at the top. Then, the twelve players are separated into two teams with each team receiving seven cards from the dealer. The cards are then turned face down with the latest Fan Tan order written on the back of each card. Each participant receives a brand new Fan Tan stack. The Fan Tan stacks are arranged in the middle, with the first cards drawn.
The second phase of the game is similar to the first, but with the exception that players are dealt additional sevens. After that, the cards are placed face-down again after this round. Again, the new Fan Tan order is mt-die.com/ written on the back of the cards. The regular 52-card deck will have the cards which were turned over at this point.
The scoring is exactly same as the standard version. Each player is awarded an amount of chips. This is then added to determine the final score. The winner is the player with the highest number of chips. Otherwise, the player with the least chips at the end of the game wins.
The game has now been redesigned with a new rule. If a player has less chips than another player and the player with the least chips will be given a second card prior to when those players are dealt a third. The second player isn't permitted to draw more cards until the first player gets a chance to draw. If a player has less chips than the other player, the first player must draw a card before the second. Players may agree on the number of cards to be dealt or opt to keep the number of cards dealt the same. If a player chooses to keep the amount of cards dealt the same, the dealer will then shuffle the deck before dealing the final rounds of cards.
The rules of the game can be explained in a simple manner. The players shuffle their decks, and each player chooses a club to play in the diamond or heart theme. The dealer then puts seven cards on the table face down. These cards are labeled from A to G. The dealer then hands out seven cards to each player starting with the "A". The dealer then puts all of the seven cards on the table face-up.
All players then face their cards and choose which pile to draw from. The first player chooses the card that is lowest in value. The second player selects the card with the highest value. The last player draws from the highest of the pile, unless there is an additional card chosen by the first dealer. After the last card has been dealt the first dealer typically reviews the cards again, to make sure that there are no other cards that were missed before the dealer hands the game back to the first dealer and starts the second round.
It is similar to solitaire, but requires four players. You must deal the cards once before you can do it again. You can't deal the cards before other players have had their turn and the dealer is usually the one to end the game in order to allow other players to take their turn. This means that you and your four best friends should be prepared to deal the cards when it is your turn to be called by the dealer. If you're playing with more people than four, you will have to wait until all players have been called before you are able to deal the cards.
